Description:
How will several different authors take the same inspiration and
craft it into their own unique nightmares? Authors Gary Braunbeck,
Gerard Houarner, Brian Keene, Tim Lebbon, and Tom Piccirilli have
all written their own unique visions of what they see in this stunning
piece of artwork by Alan M. Clark.

Editor's Note:
"As several people already guessed when word
leaked out on the Internet, this anthology is indeed a print version
of what I did with my webzine, DuelingMinds.com, a few years back.
For those who never got a chance to stop by the website, it lasted
almost a year and featured work from some great authors and artists.
Each issue had four or five stories that were all inspired by the
same piece of artwork -- so the readers had the chance to read these
stories and discover how four or five different authors interpreted
(and were inspired by) the exact same
image. The results were interesting and often vastly different,
to say the least!
I was running out of free time to maintain the website because of
my other obligations, so I ended the experiment and tried to find
a print publisher for an anthology series based on the same concept.
Long story short, offers were made, work was done, and the deals
never came through the way they were promised.
Fast forward to last year when Roger Range of Endeavor
Press asked if I thought Dueling Minds would work for his company.
He's publishing hardcover signed limited edition books in the 60
to 100 page range, if you haven't seen them yet -- check out www.endeavorpress.com
for more information. Roger was right: the Dueling Minds concept
is a perfect fit for Endeavor Press.
This full-color cover artwork from Alan M. Clark
will be the image that inspires all of the stories and the book
will feature a handful of outstanding authors: Gary Braunbeck, Brian
Keene, Tim Lebbon, Gerard Houarner, and Tom Piccirilli.
So keep watching this space, join my mailing list,
and don't miss out on this exciting new project. The quantities
involved will be very small, and I suspect the book will be sold
out long before the winter publication date."
